Spaces and Features of the Centre
The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts will feature the following six distinct spaces:
- 631 seat Main Auditorium with the largest seating capacity of any theatre in York Region.
- 150 seat Rehearsal Hall with a flexible configuration for interactive presentations, dinner theatre, award ceremonies and corporate events.
- Lobby Galleries to display an array of visual arts.
- Outdoor Piazza perfect to exhibit large-scale art and to bring productions and presentations in the open air (alfresco).
- Multi-purpose rooms for meetings, classrooms etc.
- Restored Heritage Building which will house the Centre’s administrative offices on the second floor while future commercial and/or retail spaces are being considered for the ground level.
Features of the Centre:
- Audio-visual presentation equipment in the main auditorium to provide the only non-commercial space in York Region for the presentation of arts films and media arts.
- State-of-the-art Acoustics suitable for large scale musical events, small scale opera, choral music, symphonic performances, children’s programming and intimate solo performers
- Full Orchestra Pit
- The only centre in York Region to have a 120 foot Fly Tower equipped with 30 fly-lines
- Banquet kitchen facilities
